Mr. Cilfone,
As a registered user of Ubersite, I would like to congratulate you on your success. It is inspiring to see one man achieve such status on the internet with the simple idea of letting the site take care of itself. Truly, more sites could use this idea of no member fees and anonymous registration.
Unfortunately, the very thing you have created with your refreshing ideas is a monster that is destroying itself. If this was the intent from the start, then I must congratulate you once again.
However, if this is not as you have planned; you have some work to do.
You have recently implemented new features such as bold and italics, with yet more planned. This is not where you should be focusing your attention.
There is a long list of active users turning away from your site because of the very idea you based it on. The site is fast becoming a haven for "undesirable" users' alters that wreak havoc upon it. Everyday more and more "alters" advance with the intention, at first look, of driving away all of the other users. This presents a few problems.
First, all new users to the site are reading these "alter" posts of absolutely no redeemable value and assuming that this is what Ubersite is. Thus, the quality of posts quickly decays into what resembles a junior high locker room of gay jokes and internet threats.
Secondly, any new users that have the intention of actually posting quality material are driven away by the troglodytes that rule the front page. After all, why delve deeper into the sewer if you can reason from the surface that it is filled with feces?
Finally, any chance of gaining revenue, intentional or otherwise, for yourself is ruined. The less time people spend on the site, the less traffic you have. Ergo, potential advertisers are driven away.
I am fully aware that this is not your fault and that you do as little intervening as possible. I am also aware that you spend little time here and do not step in unless there is a possible judicial matter involved. I understand that this is your vision.
I will now speak on the behalf of what seems to be the majority of users, if I may be so bold.
Everyday more people quit. They run from the site like so many rats on a sinking shit. Trying to save what little humanity they have left after visiting this once haven for creativity. The majority of us have followed the loosely set rules. We haven't strayed and even cheered when the miscreants were banned from accessing the site.
You need to toughen this place up. Use your iron fist for all it is worth and toss out the rubbish as they so deserve.
Bold and italics are pleasant to look at, but if you put a bow tie on a turd - it's still a turd.
Don't make us unionize, sir.

There are some alters that are created for the intention of entertaining us. There are not as many as there used to be, but they still exist.

Meh. This is yet another in a long list of letters issuing the same hackneyed and pathetic premise:
"Bart, I think it's cool that you started a site as an experiment to see what would happen if it were left COMPLETELY ALONE to evolve on it's own. But, here's some ways in which you should meddle with the site rendering my first sentence completely pointless."
If you don't like the site-or worse, you're too lazy to weed through the posts to find the good ones-then go somewhere else. I've been bumming around here for two years or so, and you know what? The site hasn't changed one bit. Sure, there are more people, but the ratio of "good" to "bad" is still the same. Alters, trolls and internet fights are all part of the bargain.

Ubersite has, and always will be what you make it.
The ratings mean nothing, it's all about the interaction. If you really don't want to interact, just ignore a user, eventually, they will get bored and leave you alone.
The only reason anyone posts, reviews, rates, argues, or posts pictures of their gash is because they want people to interact with them.
It's easy. If you don't like where someone is coming from, ignore them.
Post what you like, review how you like and enjoy the experience for what it really is.
A place where you don't have to dress up and be on your best behavior. Where you can make people happy, sad, indifferent, upset, angry etc without it even being your intention.
If it really annoys you this much, there is a little "X" in the top right-hand corner of the browser that is easy to find, and if clicked while the cursor is hovering over it, will make all your problems go away. If you're more of a keyboard person, try pressing the buttons 'ALT' and 'F4' simultaneously, it is also a known cure.
Trust me. Although I've never needed to use them, I know they work.
