If I become the first atheist Congressman, will Sam Brownback throw Bibles at me every time I take the floor?
It seems that the US lost TONS of gold bricks at the beginning of the Iraq War...how the hell do you lose that much gold? Watch, in 5 years, West Virginia is going to be tied with Alabama for highest average income. That's going to be interesting...
Or did Bush just give Halibution some money up front?
If you think Anna Nicole Smith's death isn't fucked up enough, the husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor (She's still alive?) has now claimed that he might be the father...What's even weirder is that he said Anna Nicole begged him to adopt her. WTFLOLERCAST?!/1?!!1
There is an actual debate going on in the legal community involving the meaning of the word 'immediately'. The issue is that some states have passed laws that said if a woman changes her mind during sex, and then the man does not withdraw immediately, it is rape. So instead of debating whether a woman has the right to do this after previously consenting, the legal community is debating what the fucking meaning of 'immediately'. What the hell? Are lawyers too egoistic to look in a dictionary?
I love that GM commercial where the depressed robot commits suicide. Why are people so damn upset about it? Are people going to really think, "Wow, that robot committed suicide, maybe I should too?" a) People won't and b) If they do, they should commit suicide for being that stupid.
Which brings me to my next point.
I hate stupid people.
And when I say hate, I mean it in the same vein as Hitler hated the Jews.
I think the world could survive without 75% of the stupid people and be MORE efficient as a collective society. Think about it. All the fast food workers and menial jobs are stupid people, feeding/helping/working for more stupid people. I say only 75% because we still need waiters at nice restaurants, janitors, cleaning people, etc. But think about it...a world in which you could go up to a person on the street, start a debate on a random issue, and they would understand what you're saying. We wouldn't have 44 million people without health care, would have amazingly high education rates and every person would graduate college and then turn around and aid society in some fashion whether through business or science and technology or politics, etc (helping through politics, what an oxymoron). Think about how much money we're spending on poor, obese people because they're too retarded to realize they need to lose weight. You seldom see a morbidly obese college professor, do you? Overweight, yes, but never to the point where government money has to be spent getting a pitchfork to get them out of their bedroom just to get them to an X-Ray machine at the local zoo. (Ok maybe thats a little bit overboard now that I re-read that, but whatever)
Ex: There was a huge good ol' fashioned fire and pitchfork deal in Sussex, England a few years back (Brits, correct me if I have the wrong city but I'm 100% sure this story is true because its documented in the book I'm reading now...I'm just too lazy to go get it.) because the people of the town were fed up with pedophiles. What'd they do? They went and destroyed the house of a Pediatrician because THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE.
However, the problem is in a world run with smart people that that university outside Boston would become the center of the world...we're not allowed to reference it by name here.
Why aren't more people discussing the issue with Native Americans nowadays? I've met a very intelligent Native American here at school that lives on her family's reservation in Arizona and that statistics are just appalling. Native Americans have: 1.5x the national obesity rate, 3x the number of average alcoholics, 2x the number of suicides, 3x the number under the poverty line...this is just pathetic. If they were smart, the Native Americans would set up high end boutiques on their reservations. Why? Because there is no local, state or federal tax on items bought on a reservation. They could be selling $2000 Gucci shoes for $1000. Hell, the Shinnecock tribe's reservation is in East Hampton, aka playground of the rich and famous of New York City. I found a map of reservations in the US and there are reservations close to Phoenix, Detroit, Seattle, San Diego and many other cities. What a business plan huh?
One share of Berkshire Hathaway is currently selling at $108,000. How crazy is that? Ten years ago, it was selling at $45,000. That means if you had 10 shares in 1997, you would have averaged making double the average family income in America every year. Wow.
What's up with the whole, white people taking pictures of themselves in Polo shirts and slacks but pouting their lips and throwing pseudo-gang signs in order to make fun of the fact they are making fun of people who actually do that? Do those people think they're being original or something?
Stephen Colbert is the Jesus of the 21st Century.
The Sarah Silverman Program is vastly overrated.
Ted Haggard has now been turned "100% Heterosexual". How the fuck did he go from meth-snorting, prostitute paying, butt-fucking to perfect husband heterosexual in 3 weeks? What did those pastors do to him behind close doors? Do we want to really know? I wonder if it involved a broom stick, peanut butter, a water bottle, some tweezers, sleeping pills, razor blades, Febreze, are you still following this? I'm just naming shit out of my drawers.
A new study came out that showed that people who are sick and in the hospital, who know they are being prayed for by name every day, did worse than those who weren't prayed for. Har har.
Did you know that the width of a nucleosome is roughly 30 nanometers? I do. How great is that? I can now solve all of the world's problems.
How are 26 of the 60 stem cell lines that are federally funded contaminated with mouse cells? Somewhere in America there is a race of super mouse-humans...Wisconsin maybe? *badump cha*
Fuck positive psychology. That shit is so fucking pointless. Weeeeee lets have the entire population hopped up Prozac until we figure out what's wrong with everyone!
It's sad that the only time I can watch CNN is from 12-1pm because that's when CNN International is on. All news programs suck so much...from Fox to CNN to MSNBC. All of them just blow. CNN talked about Anna Nicole Smith's death for 4 hours straight the day she died (from 1-4pm).
I wish I got BBC in my dorm.
There's this anime show on adult swim at 12:30 on weekdays that I find very interesting. I think I'm turning gay and/or Asian. Then again, what's the difference? They both suck (I'm sorry for the Asian hatred but it's always an Asian that fucks up the curve in my chemistry or biology or math classes...I don't think they ever leave the library).

I think the real question bob is asking is, "what is intelligence?"
I don't know. Is it how well you do with how much you're given? Or is it just how well you do? Or is it just how much you're given?
Could it be as simple as an SAT score? Or a tickle.com IQ test where a pulse and a few double clicks get you a 150?
It clearly doesn't have much to do with how many pesos your parents gave you. Other than the genes they provided.
Is Marlyn vos Savant smart? Clearly. But what if she's one of those chicks (with 15 degrees and an iq of seven thousand) yet it takes her 10 seconds to tell you which way is left? If I were bob, i would have done a "i hate stupid people" post and ranted about chicks like that.
/thinks intelligence is what you make of it.
//or maybe it's just asking the right questions.

just want to sum up whats going on here.
1) bob orders a whopper with no onions, receives whopper with onions. mumbles under his breath as he drives away, "stupid retard...can't get a sipmle order right..." and then goes home to post on uber and says "all stupid people should be killed."
2) stupid people, smart people who once served somebody a whopper with onions when they clearly ordered a whopper without onions, and stupid people who think they're smart all get insulted.
3) [above group] says "you're a rich preppy know-it-all with no real world experience...when it comes to that YOU"RE stupid.
4) bob reiterates, "no i didn't want onions, YOU"RE stupid."
3) the people from group 2 say, "you're a rich preppy know-it-all with no real world iexpereince. when it comes to that you're stupid.
5) bob reiterates.
6) you're stupid.
7) i hate stupid people
8) you're stupid.
9) i hate stupid people
10) no you're stupid.
now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to debate global warming and creationism and politics with opposite-minded people. I think those debates will get me somewhere.

"I am way ahead of the flock. I just don't have as big of an issue with it as you do. "
Just because mommy told you so, doesn't make it true Robbie
"I have my own perception - ones that are not so dissimilar to yours, hardly delusional and I have had some remarkable conversations with some terribly bright folks around here - you included - so your continued posturing is boring. "
The only thing remarkable about a conversation with you is just how meaningless it can be.
"haha... and the object of YOUR mockery? "
Yes, whether you think it is ineffectual drivel, or biting criticism, it is mockery all the same.
"Who could possibly care about something so common? I mean being the object of your obsessive derision is hardly an exclusive claim around these parts.
BUT for the record:
We are all terribly impressed you are pretty. (Good thing you post so many pictures of yourself)"
Not really, Caul's actually pretty average. Of course, it's all relative, and I suppose after you look in the mirror every morning that could well be your opinion.
"We are all astounded with your spectacular wit. (What with your wandering around here spraying your bitchy ESL bile with such regularity - how could we not appreciate it?) "
Funny you mention that, considering English is his second language and he is vastly more articulate, complete with a broader vocabulary, then you. Notwithstanding your "best fancywords". Fucking tool, take some lit courses.
"We are all turned on with your sucking of the dicks. (hawt.) "
Funny how you desperately hang on to this like a homos. Considering Caul started the shitstorm himself, what makes you think this will have any effect antagonizing him zitboy?
"ou are clearly the smartest person ever to grace this site - and it is only your opinion that matters. (Just ask you.)
Anything else you need?
OH ...we are all very pleased to hear about your new job, the fact you have a gf. "
Nobody really gives two shits, having a gf and changing careers is as regular and run of the mill as a Loki post. NOW if YOU were to actually get a gf and a job and move out of the basement, that would be impressive.

i don't think reviews on the internet have impact on people. life does.
this should be filed under "Don't Bother".

I can see your point here and obviously Bob does too, since he appeared to respond in a reasonably coherent manner to your crit.
My point was that by pointing out the failings of this post and punctuating it with the -2, you left the door open to being ignored, rather than addressing the issue.
Like I said, I agreed with a lot of what you said, but by adding the neg 2, you make it much less open to debate than by leaving the rating open.
I stand by my rating.
But as an aside, I don't think you are particularly enhancing your cause with the responses Bob. Just Sayin'.

Of course it's hard to tell who a person really is online. I don't bother trying to tell. You don't owe anyone an explanation or justification. You only owe yourself. If you are satisfied, then who cares what people think?
Personally, I have absolutely no problem with those who have grown up privileged, as long as they don't take it for granted, or brag about it as though they themselves accomplished something, when in reality it was their parents.
Either way, I could care less about who you are personally, because you only exist in my computer. No hard feelings. Or any feelings at all really.
I must go. I have to drive my shitty Lumina (that I paid for working a menial job) to the library so I work on my paper in peace.

A knee-jerk reaction would have been for me to -2 you, but I see you have apologized. I'm with Caul on this issue. Being a "productive" memeber of society is neither a mark of intelligence nor a sign of stupidity. "Productive" is a relative term most of the time anyway.

I'm with the minority of cog scientists in my belief that intelligence is multi-faceted. So in the way that I look at the brain, productivity has the possibility of having a correlation with intelligence, but I understand your point.
You seem to have been somewhat sheltered. In my opinion it is stupid to not take advantage of the opportunities afforded to you. No one should fault you for your background, and you are wise to attend an excellent school and allow your parents to pay for it. However, you seem to have a lack of humility about you. How very generous of you to allow 25% of "stupid people" to live. I suppose there will have to be someone around to clean off your fucking table, right? To dress your children for you because your wife took too many valium and has to lie down... again. As long as they are serving "society" right? See how easy it is to stereotype. To take things for granted.

It seems that your example lumps me into the very group that I so detest. See below.
Recognize that most people on ubersite did not have parents who could afford to send them to a place like Brown, the majority of the world's population lives in what we westerners would consider poverty, and have a little humility about your own place. Stop bragging about your BMW and your trips around the world. You say that you worked for them. You may have worked for them but you wouldn't have been able to do that work, to focus on those particular goals and not other, more practical aims, without the cushion I was talking about. I hope you know that because you seem bright enough. If you are at all humble or grateful it doesn't come across well in this forum.

Yea, I do appear very one-dimensional, but that is how people tend to come off online. I mean, its not like I post my activities here or anything so that people would know how I actually spend my time except for the very small period of time that I come here. Hell, probably doing so would just garner more ridicule so w/e. Anyone who wants to cast me in that group can do just that and I doubt I could do much to change it, nor would taking the time to do so be desirable.

I just love the little wannabe "intelectuals" that flock to this site with their ideas of their own brilliance and debate skillz, even while they have as narrow-minded of a perspective on things as some back water redneck who rails against the "nigras". A lack of a college or university education is no reference on whether someone is intelligent or not, nor is the profession they are currently using as a stepping stone. A lot of these people you would call stupid, likely have experience and knowledge you won't acquire for years if ever. In fact some have even discovered the mysterious secret of "making it on their own", without living in Daddy's basement, waiting for Mommy to get dinner ready for them. You have no real world experience. Your knowledge is purely trivial and you lack any understanding of the reality, background, and impact of events happening in the world around you. Your debates consist of making uninformed conjectures about the topic du jour. You think by arguing with another inexperienced, young, suckled by mommy nitwit, you are generating real answers to issues. If you truly want to be an intellectual individual, and want to make a difference, then instead of wasting your time on pointless bullshit "debate", or reading crap on intraweb forums, go get some real world education, and try to do some true research on the full background and realities around a given interest. I work in a professional firm and have to educate little fucktards like you all the time when they get out of school, thinking they know everything and talking bullshit, when the truth of the matter is most of them don't even have the technical knowledge to do the job they have a fucking degree for, much less any kind of richer understanding to be discussing other people's lives and society as a whole. You're right on one thing, society is full of stupid people, but a big part of the problem is the current mental laziness of the generation going through our higher education system.

Alright, on the stupidity part.
When I'm referring to stupid people working in the service industry, I AM NOT talking about kids paying their way through college; I am talking about people who simply do not try in life and just flounder around, doing absolutely nothing productive.
I also do not equate a college degree with intelligence. Chance alone dictates that not all who are highly intelligent will end up with college degrees, not to mention the numerous societal factors that influence the amount of education people are able to receive.
I knew something was amiss when I read over that part, I'm sorry for the confusion and I didn't mean to insult anyone who was in a similar situation.
PS: The fact that I used Sussex wasn't due to stupidity, just laziness that I refused to skim through the 400+ pgs of The God Delusion to try to find the two or three paragraphs where Dawkins referred to this incident.

Dave's mature critique without resorting to personal slander and insults isn't the Uber way. I guess in more reasonable terms my point would be Bob life is all about perspective; you shouldn't have to apologize for having the benefits of parents who can support you throughout University, as I assume most parents wish they could do. I think the primary issue is you place too much value on the education degree structure as a basis for both worldliness and intelligence, when it's obvious that a structured education system does afford people the ability to achieve a modicum of knowledge, that doesn't always translate into intelligence.
I work in construction in NYC; I have Polish men working for me with advanced degrees in Engineering, one who finished his degree in veterinary medicine. I watch pompous self aggrandizing yuppie fucks treat us like shit on their shoes in office spaces where we work because they have thick accents and I am wearing dirty cargo pants and combat boots. Sure some of the comments are plain wrong and some are very misguided, but the guy is writing from the position he finds himself in.
Even after all that there were some points where I found myself laughing.
I think that bob is on the whole, a decent guy, young as he may be.
You can't really flame him for the fact that he has a comfortable life, nor can you expect him to know what life is like for those who struggle. (Just in case you are wondering, I did. It took me almost 10 years to pay off my debts after leaving University).
For your part bob, you need to take a wider approach to your comments, even if it is SPT. You are a young guy and as I said before, I think you are a good guy, but it is stupid and arrogant to make such sweeping statements in a community like Uber, where the cross section of people is so wide.
Hope you enjoy your forthcoming trip to London, let me know if you want a drink or 3, (as long as you are 18), or a tour guide. dave.groves.at.gmail.com

Ohh and by the way this coming from someone who has worked every low end low level bullshit job specifically in food service to help subsidize my college scholarship, the kids who work at your dining hall are spitting in your food... all the time, they see you coming dude and single you out.
What is really sad about your observations are that they are made from such a narrow-minded perspective, ironic really given your apparent distaste for ignorance.

They went and destroyed the house of a Pediatrician because THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE.

sussex is a county fucktard, i hate stupid people, you know, the ones that complain about people being stupid and then make some bullshit comment because THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE.

The Sarah Silverman Program is vastly overrated.

+1 for that, but ghola is right. You're still in college, and apparently lucky enough to not have to work for tuition. But don't bad-mouth people in the service industry with too much enthusiasm; you will probably find yourself doing one of these jobs when you first start out.
Unless you are some kind of snot-nosed trust-fund baby; in that case go fuck yourself.

If EVERYONE graduated college it would lose it's meaning entirely - as it is starting to do now.
Not your best work here, broseph.

I'm in college. I've worked in fast food, waited tables, made business cards, been a dental assistant, served drinks at a bar and moved goddamn furniture. I had no idea that made me a moron.

You're a real fucking piece of shit, you know that? I suppose that you never had to wait tables or work anywhere menial, paying for school, considering that Daddy pays for everything, right? How does it feel knowing that for the rest of your life, everything you will own or accomplish is all thanks to him, not you?
How do you equate waiting tables or working at a fast food place with stupidity? You are a snotty, arrogant waste of fucking oxygen with incredible tunnel vision and a narrow mind, and you will go through life smelling your own shit and telling others how wonderful it smells.
Guess what Porky, no one truly likes you, no one will ever truly like you, and as much money as you may have in your life, rest well knowing that your wife will only fuck/marry/stay with you for your money, when in reality she cannot STAND you. The irony will be that she will be just as fake as you, yet she will hate your fucking guts.

a) sussex is a county
b) i mentioned that about 3 years ago
c) i hate your kind
Being uneducated does not equal stupid and also being 'educated' does not equal intelligent.
You've had zero struggle in your life you little cunt and it shows through.
Try growing up where I did and making it on your own and see if you narrow blinkered preppy little perspective changes.
Spastic.

"I think the world could survive without 75% of the stupid people and be MORE efficient as a collective society. Think about it. All the fast food workers and menial jobs are stupid people, feeding/helping/working for more stupid people. I say only 75% because we still need waiters at nice restaurants, janitors, cleaning people, etc"
Jesus fuckin' Christ! Are you 16? Hey genius, how exactly do you define "stupid"? Wait, I'll bet it's anyone who doesn't know the same trivial facts Bob does.
I'm finishing my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering this May and as an undergrad, I had to work as a janitor. You know all those bills you get that you send to your dad? Yeah, I had to pay mine myself. I got to do so by cleaning up after arrogant assholes like you who thought they were so much fuckin' better than me based solely on my vocation at the time.
Fuck you
