fucking kick ass.

This would be a cool song.

Well, as the woman wrote - "This is an old song/These are old blues/And this is not my tune/But it's mine to use..."

The POS microphone cost $5. Be gentle.

You don't get to disagree. You have a nice voice. And we're talking about the actual voice, not the technical proficiency of your singing. Which isn't too shoddy either.

Your voice is close to a purr.

There *is* something about the music man.
I recently learned that an already-attractive friend of mine not only plays the guitar, but some obscure stringed instrument from morocco (sp?) and a badass harmonica.
Just made him hotter, damn him.

PS I PLAY NO INSTRUMENTS
:(

I play guitar too. That makes me hot, Coley.

Can't remember if I rated this last night.

You should listen to The Handsome Family.

This song...classic Americana, dripping with darkness. Harry Smith would be proud.

I might remake this for my next album. I'll credit you, of course.

---

You're welcome to remake it however you like. I'd be interested to see what you come up with. It could stand a once-over from the Rewrite Machine as some of the lines don't really flow as well as the others. I considered changing some of it but figured I'd just do a straight up version of the original post for consistency's sake.

If this was any day but Friday I'd say maybe. But I don't "do" Saturday delivery and I'm sure as hell not trusting anything that's been sitting around for the weekend.

Looks like it's orange soda, jalapeno chips and Advil for me.

Thornsy, the kids are off on spring break. Hence, the slowdown. It also slows down a lot when school lets out for the summer and over christmas break.
-----------------

Ah, yes. Not having any kids of my own (thank God), and having been in the corporate work world for almost ten years, I've forgotten what a "break" is. :(

O-Man, my lunch was farfalle pasta with feta, sundried tomatoes, and pheasant. It was leftovers from a great dinner Wednesday night. Want me to send some to you? You never know, it *may* not spoil by the time it makes it to you...

You were way off, Scourgemonkey.

Your lunch sounds delicious.

Sure beats mine anyway. Which is, wonderfully, a fine serving of "nothing" with a side of "fuck all."

I will laugh so hard if it ends up being "As far as you are concerned, there is no post 100000."

Incidentally, has anyone else noticed the slowdown in posts per day lately?

Call me Sherlock, but I'm guessing it's because everyone wants to hold back and try to make "their" post the 100000th.

Just a stab in the dark, ya know.

Or does Bart have that spot RESERVED for something special??? MUUAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Is this worth listening to?

I hated the original post and I'm afraid if I listen to it, I'll have to -2 and ruin your day.

Please advise.

Thanks.

No worries - I'm sure people played it out differently in their heads.

I was just thinking about adding some passion, tremolo and breathiness to this joint. Maybe go R&B and throw in a bit of sensible civil rights activism for good measure. Simone style. Yeaaaah.

---

No, no.

it was just that the guitar was a little too...hmmmm...'bright'(does that word express what I want here? close enough)for me. and you had a little bit of country flavor to your voice....

whatever.

who cares.

it's your piece. i liked it well enough. when you posted the text of it, i liked it rather well as a matter of fact. this just didn't jibe with how i heard it in my head is all.

And all that I've got
and all that I need
I tie in a knot
That I lay at your feet
And I have not forgot
But a silence crept over me
(So dig up your bone
exhume your pinecone
my sadie)

O-Man, my man...excellent work. This felt really raw, and as such, really authentic. Post flagged.

Your voice has a nice baritone growl...a blend between Cash and Jones.

Say, can you pop on IM when you get a moment? I've got a request for ya regarding "the" project.
