Wasn't it theft? Or fraud?
Welcome to Ubersite!

As tempting as it is – I won’t be jumping feet first onto the bandwagon of the moment, that is who I do and do not like of ubersite.

Because as you know, my sweet buttons, I adore every single weird, nasty, odd, adorable one of you.

I sit here in my house, damning myself being here. Why? Because I shouldn’t be here. I was one of the fuckers who LEFT. I wasn’t bored anymore. I'm no longer in a dull boring job, whiling away the time reading rants and stories from around the globe. Quite the contrary, I now have the contract I wanted. The job of a lifetime. And I am no longer bored.. So uber is unlikely to become part of my daytime again (from this Weds anyway).

Yet..

Somehow....oddly. I still care about you freaks. I still want to know what bizarre thing Apollo has to say...what jibberjabbery is going on with EI, Ophelia and Hadley... who hates Sico at the moment...what noobs are being slammed.. I’ll still check in here during the evening after reading my emails on the laptop.

And I have no idea why.

I, as all of you do, have a life. But somehow still manage to find the odd half hour to ‘have a gander’ at what’s going on here.

It’s like a little life.

It’s almost like a little island in my head of people that I knew from years ago. Like a survivor situation. Imagine...ubersite people on a desert island. Making fires and collecting food and arguing as they do..... quite an interesting little community, don’t you think?

There was me thinking that this place was for when you were bored. And then you get to know the community...and you wonder what they are doing. How goddamn odd is that??

WHY DO I THINK ABOUT YOU LOT????

Am I going mad?

Am I on the edges of crawling into the dark space and crying for chocolate covered wafers?

Will this get worse?

Will any of you hold my hair when I vom?

OOOH I DOUBT IT.

On a good note....my radishes and aubergine plants poked their seedling little heads up today...

What are courgettes? Never heard of em, yet surprisingly I've heard of borage.

As for the plums and berries, do you mean you're just planting them this year, or you've already gotten them planted and they'll be producing this year?
~~~~~
The berries were ones I planted last year - had them in pots so left them in the greenhouse for the winter, now they're in the ground. The plum tree is a tree I bought a few weeks ago.Oh and courgettes are zuccini
Garden frog statues are available in Angels Camp. Whole town is covered with painted frogs. The town's claim to fame is "The Famous Frog of Calavaras County" by Mark Twain.{or some title of the same ilk}
To hell with everyone, they can be bored.
What are courgettes? Never heard of em, yet surprisingly I've heard of borage.
As for the plums and berries, do you mean you're just planting them this year, or you've already gotten them planted and they'll be producing this year?
I've had a Burbank plum for the past 6 years, and just finally got it a cross-pollinator planted last year along with a Richmond cherry (self pollinating.) I'm hoping to see some first fruits on the eldest plum by next year if I'm lucky.
As for berries, I planted 3 Raspberry bushes last year, which I probably won't see anything from for another 2 years really, and Blackberries (technically black raspberries) grow wild like a mo-fucka here, so I always end up with about 10 gallons of them around mid-summer.
Wild Scuppernong grapes are also thriving in the wild here, but I can't get any "regular" grape types to grow, it's just too hot for them.
I'd love to be able to plant regular potatoes here, but with the ultra-poor soil I'm limited to Sweet Potatoes, which are really just a species of morning glory anyway.
Also, how the fuck are you growing lemons?
What kind of a lonely fucking loser are you? You care about a bunch of anonymous people you know only as words on a screen. You seriously must be pathetic, it's like a child clinging to their imaginary friend because no one in the playground likes them. Get outside and get a social life you basement dweller. The fact that you would even waste 5 minutes of your life typing out this meaningless tripe speaks mountains about your character. go hang yourself.
Thanks petal. Was weird. Worked for this project - was an awful role and I had to leave. They called me back and apologised profusely, begged me back, gave me the job I wanted with the money I had originally asked for and I start again this week. Feel a bit odd about it but life can be like that I guess.
If I only came here when I was bored I'd not be here often, it's much more for the sense of community, like you described.
You get interested in the lives of others, and get a sense of knowing people (or at least "wanting" to know them) that in reality few people participate in these days. How many people have things in common with their neighbors now?
Aside from nationality and culture, people have fragmented and diversified into so many subcultures, that we now have difficulties relating to those in our cultures at large.
In my neighborhood, there are maybe 30 households. When we first moved there, there were a few get-togethers, that were supposed to be a monthly, or at least seasonal thing, but after the 3rd, we all split up into our own fragment groups. I now only associate with one other couple in my "hood."
