Thank ya mos' kindly. It is aloe indeed. It was blooming a few weeks ago but the blossom stalks were spent by the time we moved it back onto the pool deck. In other plant-related news; one of the pindo palms has produced a blossom stalk, and so hopefully there will be fruit in a few weeks. Pindo-infused vodka and maybe pindo jelly will soon follow.

We like lizards and frogs inside the screen cage. Sometimes bugs do get in, and as long as there are lizards and frogs to eat those bugs there won't be spiders to do it. Lizards and frogs like it mainly outdoors and won't enter the house much (it's not warm enough inside for them), but spiders will wander right into the house when we've got the house doors open to the lanai, as we often do. And there's the cuteness/creepiness factor as well as the non-poisonous/can-be-fuck-you-up-poisonous factor to consider too.

"...let the lizards and frogs move in..."

Let them stay outside! Beautiful pool and enclosure you have there.

Workin on a water feature here. Solar pump for old well for irrigating crops. Hollyhocks are as tall as the cabin.

MLWaI painted the house last weekend. Part of the redecorating, I'm told. It was mildly odd how much darker the paint got as it cured in the sun, to the extent that I considered painting a large "Ü" on a wall, capturing images of it went through the chromatic metamorphosis from freshly applied to cured, and making a time-lapse GIF of the images for a post. But then I realized that not even Überers are desperate enough for entertainment to watch an internet video of paint drying, and I dismissed the idea. Best for all concerned, really.

That's MLW in the shirt, Oath. She's a child of hippies, born in the Summer of Love. Tie dye is in her DNA.

Now lose that pussy-ass tie dye T-shirt.

CT & Jeanneee - Isn't there an old school Uberer who's got a home improvement TV show? THAT'S who you need to hit up for help. Call in the pros and maybe get your digs on HGTV while you're at it. Failing that, stop by the Home Depot on a Saturday morning and talk to the guys hanging out by the sign by the entrance to the parking lot. 3-4 of them for a day will get all your yard work done fast and cheap.

I need you to come do some stuff at my house. Do you know anything about tilesetting? And I may need you to move a smallish Japanese maple....

total cost of project: about $750. Total elapsed time: about 28 person-hours over three days. You can do this.
