Banana Puddin' by Flak
Review: Flak's dog died. As a tribute, he wrote a loving farewell which took the harsh burial duties the family performed and juxtaposed those with brief snippets from the dog's life, from beginning to end.
There were also some parallels to Harry Potter when he buried Dobby--the "need" to bury the dog themselves, with their own hands. There's an implication that the dog deserved their personal involvement, but I'm kind of torn when it comes to that idea. Nobody buries their grandmother themselves. They pay someone else to do it. Does that mean we don't like our grandmothers enough, or are they just too heavy?
